As you are all aware that the company has been actively engaged in solving the current crises that it faces for the last eleven months. This journey has been long and tough and has brought out the best effort from all of us in combating the situation. We now do have reasons to believe that we should be able to resolve the current impasse soon.

As mentioned earlier, efforts are underway to open a permanent establishment of the company in India, so that it is able to re-start the business as a local entity in India, in accordance with the prevalent local laws.

In order to have a smooth and Hassel free re-start, we request you to kindly have the following documents ready as they will be required upon re-start of the business.

Please do note that this only a preparatory exercise in anticipation of our business re-starts. Once we get all the permissions from the concerned authorities, we will communicate with you for the next set of actions to be taken.

At the outset we would like to state that we welcome the verdict of honourable Supreme Court with regards to the WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) NO(s). 383 OF 2011. In our opinion this judgement only furthers our belief in the honourable courts protecting the rights of the consumers in the country.


As is the stated position of the company, SAOL will extend all the support required in executing this directive of the honourable Supreme Court and will actively work towards re-starting its suspended operations at earliest opportune moment.

Supreme court's order on Speak Asia case on 6/2/2012..

UPON hearing counsel the Court made the following

O R D E R

We have heard learned counsel for the parties.

In the peculiar facts of this case we direct respondent no. 6 to provide print out of the data collected to the learned Mediator by 11/2/2012. We request the learned mediator to ascertain how much amount in fact is due and payable to the petitioners and other authorities.

We direct the concerned respondents to deposit the amount indicated by the learned Mediator with the Secretary General of the Supreme Court within two weeks of the order of the learned Mediator.

All the parties would be at liberty to participate in the proceedings before the learned Mediator

Dear Speak asia,
This morning brought one of the greatest news of this year. Today in Supreme Court the SAOL management got its clear victory. The honorable Supreme Court has passed an order which is clear and exactly in the favor of the Company.


Following are some extract of the order of the honorable supreme court:


1. SAOL has been ordered to deposit Rupees 50 crores with the Supreme Court.


2. Central Board Of Direct Taxes (Income Tax Authority) has been asked to give the details of their dues from the Speak Aisa.


3. Economic Offence Wing(Mumbai Police) has been ordered to handover the admin rights of the website along with all other material to the Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. C. Lahoti.

RBI has issued new circular regarding foreign accounts trasacting in India.

RBI has redesigned its policy for the foreign account holder to transact in Rupees on today. It is a very good sign towards our operations.

Supreme Court's direction to RBI in Speak Asia case..

Dear Speak asia,


Please go through the order page of the Supreme Court given on 16th Jan, 2012 in SAOL matter in this article. In this order the apex court has ordered the Reserve Bank of India to file an affidavit within a period of two weeks. And now the hearing is listed on 6th Feb, 2012. We would like to draw your attention to an E mail communication dated 14th December, 2011, in which RBI has written to the company saying that the RBI has not placed any restrictions on the company bringing in money through proper banking channels, Further RBI has not placed any restrictions to pay any money to the panelists in accordance to law.


With this clarification from the RBI the way is cleared for the company to bring in the money for the panelists and is now only dependent on getting the requisite clearance from the Supreme Court. From this email communication we can be confident that the RBI's report to SC will definitely be positive. And once the RBI files an affidavit, and the SC gives an order based upon it, then the way will be clear for SAOL to distribute the money to the panelist and probably restart the business once again in full fledged manner.
